Melita operates two distinct data centres. The primary facility located in Madliena, is Malta’s first - and only - purpose built hosting facility. Our secondary data centre in the fast-growing Mriehel Business Hub is connected to our primary facility via two diverse high-capacity fibre optic cables fully owned by Melita. Through our hosting facilities we offer data centre, connectivity and infrastructure services to companies and organisations of any size. Purpose built

The Melita Data Centre primary facility covers a fenced footprint of 10,000m² and is Malta’s only purpose-built data centre facility. The site is strategically situated on high-ground, carries no risk of flooding, is close to major business centres yet detached from main traffic arteries.

Tailor–made solutions

Melita Business offers an array of data centre services – from traditional hosting and colocation, to end to end infrastructure management. Customers may opt to ship their own hardware or procure branded hardware of their choice directly from Melita Business. Various leasing models are also available.

Security

The Melita Data Centre offers the safest conditions with full border fencing, early aspiration system, NOVEC 1230 fire suppression, fully logged access control, CCTV monitoring with 90-day back up and 24/7/365 manned security. The utilities building is separate and protected with a fire suppression system.

Carrier-grade connectivity

Melita runs a mature and nationwide fibre optic network and peers with leading Tier 1 global providers. Melita Business clients have access to fully redundant international connectivity via multiple submarine cable links to mainland Europe, private leased circuits for international point-to-point Ethernet connections and advanced DDoS protection and mitigation.

Power & Cooling

The Melita Data Centre facility is fully equipped with resilient diesel generators, online/modular UPS with duplicate 2x32 Amp power feeds per rack. Each data centre pod is built with cold aisle containment for maximum efficiency with chilled air/DX cooling system (N+1 ) that guarantees stable temperature and humidity.

24/7/365 Support

Melita Data Centre customers benefit from 24/7 support via phone and a ticketing system, a very strict Service Level Agreement, direct escalation to a Support Manager, a commercial account executive and constant monitoring of system alerts - all supported by a highly skilled and dedicated team.
